How do we know what to eat?
We are bombarded with conflicting information about what constitutes a healthy diet. One day we are told something is good for us, then it is bad, then a few years later it is good again. Many western doctors and nutritionists, whom we often rely on for nutritional information, are just as misinformed as we are.
I will show you how to incorporate a healthy diet and eating habits into your lifestyle.
I will assess your kitchen and eating habits, help you find where to shop for healthier foods, and teach you how to incorporate them into your cooking, eating, and lifestyle. I can consult with you on an ongoing basis about specific products and recipes. I will explain the research, the results, and exactly how good and bad foods affect your body.
We know what to eat by finding proof that a way of eating works - for entire societies, for entire lifetimes.
Dr. Weston A. Price, a dentist, found this proof in the 1930s when he traveled throughout the world, documenting over and over again that a traditional diet without white sugar and flour and highly processed oils produced healthy, happy people with virtually no chronic disease, mental problems, birth defects, or dental cavities or malformations.
Dr. Price found that as long as people ate a balanced diet containing naturally produced, traditionally prepared foods, they were healthy. Today the Weston A. Price Foundation continues the work of showing people how to eat well.
Through years of personal research, travel, and living around the world observing various cultures and diets, I have found that a balanced, traditional diet of minimally processed organic foods is the healthiest and easiest way to eat.
Plus it tastes great! I know this works. I've had extensive empirical experience with all sorts of ailments including hypothyroidism, chronic skin problems, Reynaud's syndrome and other circulatory problems, chronic constipation, weight issues, chronic fatigue, systemic Candida infections, severe sinus problems, chronic digestive disorders, and others. I have tried the U.S. Food and Drug Administration recommended diet; low-fat high-carb diets; high protein diets; vegetarianism; the Atkins diet; the Zone; "proper" food combining diets; macrobiotics; the acid/alkaline food diet; eating according to my blood type; and many, many different dietary supplements, oils, and ointments.
None of these proved to be effective overall, and many of them made things worse.
After 20 years of struggling with diet, weight, and health issues, I am healthier and lighter
than I was when I was eating a so-called "healthy" diet of low-fat foods and polyunsaturated
fats and grains and pastas, and avoiding so-called "bad" foods like saturated fats
and good quality meat and dairy products and fermented foods.
It is not what you
eat - it is how the food was produced, processed, and prepared - that makes us healthy
and slim or ill and fat!
I can save you time and show you the tools for eating in a healthy, wholesome way that also tastes great.
My goal is to help you break out of the box of mainstream beliefs and misinformation surrounding diet, nutrition, health, and disease. I will help you make the change to eating a life long healthy diet. I can teach you to eat consciously and to become informed about everything you put into your body.
